Traditionally celebrated on the Saturday before Labor Day, Bacon Day is the the day to celebrate all things bacon (see: bacon mania). Here at Too Into It, we decided to feature a couple of past bacon centric posts. We have a twist on a classic childhood sandwich, a Sci Fi inspired appetizer, and a burger that pays homage to our favorite clown in Springfield. Hope you enjoy!
Peanut Butter and Jelly AND BACON
This recipe, designed for National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, takes sourdough bread topped with freshly ground peanut butter, organic strawberry jam, and delicious bacon and grills on a stove. This sandwich is amazing.
Maple Street Monsters
In celebration of Twilight Zone Day, we made this appetizer in homage of the episode "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street". Jalapenos cut in half, stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in maple bacon on a stick. That's really all you need to know.
For the #EverySimpsonsEver marathon, we made our own version of Krusty Burgers, the token item found at the food chain started by Krusty the Clown. In reference to the mash up of various types of (likely inedible) meat the Krusty burger is supposed to have, we made ours with ground beef, ham, and bacon. Hey hey!
